FAQ'S
We know that bookkeeping can sometimes feel overwhelming, and you probably have a lot of questions. That’s why we’ve put together this FAQ section—to provide clear, helpful answers to the most common questions our clients ask.
Whether you're wondering how bookkeeping works, what services we offer, or how to get started, we’re here to make the process simple and stress-free. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help!
What is the cost for virtual bookkeeping?
This all depends on what you need and what you would like to continue doing. We base our monthly fee on only the parts of your books on which we need to focus. For example, if you want to continue sending out invoices, you can. We won’t include that additional price in your monthly fee. We cater to you and your needs.
What types of businesses have you done bookkeeping for?
Our employees have a combined experience of 70+ years in bookkeeping. We have worked in these industries: Affordable Housing, Auto Repair, Bakery, Beverage Manufacturer, Construction, Consulting, Consumer Health Care, Engineering, Hospitality Accommodations, Manufacturing, Mining, Nonprofit, Property Management, Recreation Facility, Religious Organization, Restaurant, Retail Clothing, Retail Jewelry and Production, Employee Staffing Agency, Wholesale.
Our list is always growing.
What does virtual bookkeeping entail?
We will customize the process to promote an efficient workflow to make it as easy for you as possible. You will receive resources to efficiently forward items to us, like: payments received, invoices to pay, and more. We will also ask to be set up for “read-only” access to your bank account(s), any business loans, credit cards, and other necessary accounts to record and reconcile your monthly transactions.
How safe is cloud bookkeeping?
Cloud services have become very safe with today’s advancement in technology. With most banks and credit unions offering online banking, businesses such as QuickBooks have increased their security measures. QuickBooks uses state-of-the-art multi-factor authentication, data encryption, physical safeguards, and routine testing to keep all information secure.
Shouldn’t my bookkeeper be local?
The internet makes it easy for bookkeepers to securely access their clients’ books at any time and from anywhere. Business owners can now select a bookkeeper who truly understands their industry and operations, instead of hiring the local, community bookkeeper by default. If you prefer a local bookkeeper, we do have an office in downtown Dover, NH. You may want to call or email to make sure we are in the office, as sometimes we may be working offsite.
Why do I need accurate data records?
A business needs accurate records to track its financial health, make informed decisions based on data, comply with tax regulations, identify profitable areas, and ultimately, ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the company. Accurate records improve compliance and audit readiness, improve financial reporting, free up your valuable time, and help make tax season easier and cheaper. Inaccurate records can lead to confusion, cash flow problems, poor decision-making, increased spending, and potential legal issues with authorities.
Will you manage the payroll for my business?
We are equipped to manage payroll through QuickBooks Online. If you have another payroll system that you have been using and you wish to continue using it, we may be able to help with that, too. Ask us about the software you use. Our staff has experience using several other payroll programs. After an official signing on with us, we would then need the login information to manage this effort for you.
